To me culture,has many different
meanings. For some it refers to an appreciation of good literature,
music, art, and food. i believe evryone has a culture whether that's a high culture or popular culture, people around the world are similar in their essential humanity, e.g we communicate with each other, we sustain ourselves with food, we sleep and we often dream. still we speak different language and eat diffrent food. These are what we call cultural diffrence. i have been living in Somalia and Ethiopia, these countries have same border and racial similarity but have diffirent culture. However, culture is what binds us together as Human beings but also seperates us into our different communities.
A very thoughtful comment Liban that shows some engagement with the concepts that we will study on this course. It would be very interesting to hear about some of the cultural differences between Ethiopa and Somalia. I think it is interesting that you point out that culture both binds us and separates us. Keep posting comments on your blog about what you have been learning. If you do a weekly overview of the types of things we have discussed and learnt about in class it will reinforce your learning. Good luck!
